Financial planning has been a part of my life since the year 2000.

Previously I served a career in the aviation industry. From the age of 18 through to 37, I worked as a Flight Service Officer. My responsibility was to communicate with aircraft that operated in regional Australia and ensure their safe travels. Over the course of my career I spent time working in Port Hedland, the Cocos-Keeling Islands and at Perth airport.

In 2000, Air Services conducted a restructure and I made the decision to move into Financial Planning. Initially I worked with a large Perth firm, until taking up a shareholding in Financial Framework in 2014. Over the course of my financial planning career I have met and helped a wide range of people. In particular, I have enjoyed working with people in pre and post retirement. I’ve found that there is a great degree of satisfaction to be gained from helping people transition to a life in retirement. Superannuation, business succession, personal insurance, pre and post retirement advice and strategies to maximise Centrelink benefits all make up part of the increasingly complex landscape that I like to call home.

So, having worked in a variety of roles and raised three children, I feel like I have walked in the shoes of my clients. This places me in a great position to provide comprehensive and appropriate advice to all my clients.

Most of my clients come to learn that I have a burning passion for health and wellness. No, I’m not a yoga guru, but I do enjoy keeping tabs on my health progress and doing well with my goals.

Over the last couple of years I have been involved in a charity bike ride called the Ride For Youth. This ride raises funds for Youth Focus, a charity which supports young people and their mental health. I’ve also been leading the charge on developing our wellness services to clients approaching retirement.

I strongly believe that it’s just as important to be well in retirement as it is to be well off financially.
